Histori

Amely did not start as a fully formed band. It started in 2008 with a studio project for singer and rhythm guitarist Petie Pizarro (24 years old), who moved forward as a soloist after the breakup of the previous band. He began writing songs that he later selected, to record an EP. Later, he was nicknamed "On My Own," at Vision Sound Studios in Vision Sound Studios in Jacksonville, Florida with producer Daryl Phennager (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus). Although Pizarro played most of the instruments on the recording, including guitar, bass, piano and synths, he brought Nate Parsell to record some complicated drum parts, as they had previously been together in a band. After completing this EP, in June 2008, Pizarro and Parsell realized that they had something of value to be traced further in music and agreed to form a band. Bassist, Patrick Ridgen, soon found and lead guitarist, Brandon Walden, joined them a little later and Amely formed. Parsell began as a drummer in the basement of his old home in rural Ohio. He studied percussion personally throughout his high school career, playing in marching bands, band concerts, jazz ensembles, pep bands and pit orchestra for four years, as well as some "rock bands" with no results. He then studied at a music conservatory and earned a degree in recording art and music business from Full Sail University. Some of his early influences were John Bonham and Charlie Watts along with some more modern influences such as Dave Grohl, Travis Barker, Carter Beauford, and Zac Farro of Paramore.

Recording

After their tour, and the success they have so far, they capture major record labels. Although they were only formed as a band for less than a year, in January 2010, Amely was signed by Fearless Records. Once signed, the band immediately headed to the studio with Zack Odem, Kenneth Mount (All Time Low, Mayday Parade), and Mike Green (Paramore, Breathe Carolina) to record their debut EP, Hello World, May 25, 2010. The EP consists of eight catchy songs that introduce melodic music, pop rock-affected sound. At this point, the lead singer Pizzaro, comparing their music with pop-rock bands like The All American Rejects and Jimmy Eat World and wants his band to have mass appeal with no age, gender, or mind set. "We want to be adult pop/rock bands with sounds that children can accept, but adults will also enjoy," notes Pizarro. Regardless of their EP, the first holiday-themed holiday compilation series created by Fearless Records titled "Tis the Season to Be Fearless" featuring eight Christmas-themed songs was released on November 22, 2010, including the cover of Amely from the song "It's Christmas Time Again "originally by Backstreet Boys. The band has also covered the famous song "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. The song was originally on the soundtrack of the movie Walt Disney Pictures Hannah Montana and the album was released by Walt Disney Records, but the purpose of the band's recording was on the compilation album Fearless Records Punk Goes Pop 3 . However, their cover is not on the album and, instead, one of their original songs ("Come Back to Me") is included in the bonus CD Punk Goes Pop 3 . In addition to recording, the band went on "Let's Be Animals Tour" with The Downtown Fiction, He Is We, and Cady Groves in spring 2011.

Break-Up

On November 1, 2011 Amely announced via webchat that they will break up. In addition, before it officially broke up, the band announced the release of another EP titled Rayaigh Sessions, which was self-recorded, produced and mixed. The entire process from start to finish was made by his own band in Raleigh, North Carolina. The EP was released on November 21, 2011. However, it was released only in digital form and can be found on iTunes and Spotify. Despite the sad news for fans, Pizarro, Parsell and Ridgen also announced that they will form a new band called Sovereign Army, and Walden will move forward as a solo artist. The band's announcement stated:

This decision does not come easily and is the effect of a large number of things that seem out of our control. This is an incredible journey with our best friends and the goal we are achieving now is not the end, it is a new beginning. Although we are very disappointed with the discourse that befell us, we do not let it tear us down and we hope you stay strong with us all. Since the beginning of this year and even before that we have written for what we want to be our first full-length album. Because the opportunity to produce our music professionally seemed further away in the distance we took it to ourselves to record the songs we had poured into our hearts. After combining the diverse and many skills of all 4 of us, recording this home is all that remains of Amely. We believe this is part of our greatest work and we want to be able to share it with you. Though it may come as a parting gift, we hope this collection of songs you can find well. Maybe the remains of Amely, but we hope it reminds you, this is not the end.
