John Andrew Leslie (born November 25, 1970 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand) is a former rugby football player who plays in the center for Scotland. He is the eldest son of Andy Leslie, the great All Blacks captain and brother of Leslie Leslie who also plays for Scotland. He was educated at St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, and completed BPhEd at the University of Otago in 1994.

Leslie played 123 matches for Otago and 32 for Highlanders at Super 12. He led Otago to the National Provincial Championship title in 1998.

Leslie qualified for Scotland through her paternal grandfather and initially joined Glasgow Caledonians, making her international debut along with her brother against South Africa in November 1998. Shortly after her debut, she joined the Sanix Fukuoka Bomb club in Japan.

Leslie sisters joined the New Zealand ranks to play for Scotland, dubbed Kilted Kiwis, including: Brendan Laney, Glenn Metcalfe, Gordon Simpson and Sean Lineen - original Kilted Kiwi.

At the 1999 State Championship, Leslie scored the fastest goal ever against Wales, landed after ten seconds after kick-off. He was elected Man of the Tournament.

In January 2000, SRU wanted Leslie closer to Scotland, he quit Sanix to sign Newcastle Falcons in England.

In September 2000, Leslie joined the Northampton Saints.

After the 2002 State Championships Leslie retired from international rugby.

At the end of the 2003/04 season, John was released by Northampton Saints, when he returned to Otago and New Zealand.

In October 2004 Leslie retired, playing her last game for Otago.

Since retiring, Leslie coached the team at the University of Otago RFC with Josh Kronfeld.

Since 2006 until now Leslie is now running LeslieRugby Business. The business of rugby products based in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Leslie also runs a one-day training course on rugby skills training and drill training for children and trainers in New Zealand.
