The Nissan President is a Japanese luxury limousine manufactured by Nissan from 1965 to 2010. The car is mainly used by corporate executives and government officials. It is a luxury sedan devoted exclusively to the Japanese market, where its main competitor is Toyota Century. The President is a leading limousine, and sold at Nissan Motor Store dealers. During the 1970s, a brief look at other Japanese competitors introduced a large sedan called Mitsubishi Debonair, while Isuzu Statesman de Ville and Mazda Roadpacer came from General Motors-Australia products and were short-lived.
The president was originally only sold in the Japanese market. In the late 1980s, exports began to some countries including Singapore and Hong Kong, although sales were limited. The North American version (called the Infiniti Q45) was produced from 1990 to 1996 and 2001 to 2006. The president was replaced by Nissan Fuga in August 2010. When the President was introduced in 1965, he wore a "Nissan" badge like no other. Nissan products at the time were labeled Datsun.

The first generation of Nissan President, designated H150 , was introduced in October 1965, replacing Cedric Special as a top-of-the-range Nissan model, and exclusive to Nissan Japan dealers called Nissan Stores Motor . The cost of ownership of the President is expensive because of its external dimensions and engine displacement puts it on the highway tax bracket, and the Japanese Government dimension regulations. The President appeared after the Toyota Crown Eight in April 1964, and was developed by Nissan as a possible submission for a limousine to be used by the Imperial Household Agency of Japan.
Its appearance is very similar to the smaller but more popular Nissan Bluebird introduced earlier in 1964.
Available with a 4.0 liter Y40 V8 engine, developed specifically for that model, or 3.0-liter H30 straight-6. Very luxurious because of the timing, the President served as the official car of Japanese Prime Minister Eisaku Sato, while the Japanese Emperor was transported in one of four Nissan Prince Royals developed by Prince Motor Company. In 1971 Nissan offered the EAL (Electro Anti-lock System) as an option on Nissan President, this being the first Japanese electronic ABS (Anti-lock braking system).
The second generation, designated H250 , was introduced in 1973. It received a complete upgrade inside and out, while the chassis was essentially the same. The V8 engine has moved up to 4.4 liters and is now designated Y44E , while the 3.0 liter version is still available. Trim Sovereign was added in 1977.
The H250 The President underwent a re-design was updated in 1982, with improved suspension, larger fuel tank, and replacement of round headlights with a halogen version of the square while maintaining the exterior and interior appearance. In 1985, the Sovereign VIP trim was added. The 250 series production continued until 1990.

In October 1989, a new Nissan President, designated
An exciting first world feature also debuted in 1993 - an SRS airbag for the left side (curbside) rear seat passengers.
In 1994, along with a minor facelift, Nissan revived the Sovereign trim level (previously available for 250 President) for the long wheelbase model. Another minor facelift occurred in 1998 (PHG50 set). At the same time, the previous Infiniti Q45 was replaced by a model based on the smaller (but still large) Nissan Cima, which also features a rear passenger airbag option in Japan. PHG50 continued to be produced until 2002 with the arrival of the new F50 chassis.

The third generation was introduced in mid 2001, based on F50 Nissan Cima, which debuted in 2001, which is also powered by the same 4.5-liter VK45DE V8 engine. It maintains the top position as the main limousine at a reorganized Nissan Japan dealer called Nissan Blue Stage . Two versions are available, both are marked Sovereign , with a seating configuration of five passengers or four passengers. The model remains a traditional competitor to Toyota Toyota's Toyota Limousine Century, and competes for customers for three years with new Mitsubishi Martity as top seed, but Mitsubishi chooses to use front-wheel drive.
This four-passenger version is much more expensive and features luxury equipment, including the Bose sound system and a number of other electronic devices controlled from the rear center armrest panel, as well as "lounge chairs" - a feature that allows the front passenger seat to be swept forward , allowing passengers in the back to stretch his legs.
Ending production end
In August 2010, Nissan announced that it has stopped production of Nissan Cima and President, who share the same chassis. Both models require improved safety to comply with the latest safety regulations, but uninspired sales indicate that the company will not be able to recoup costs. Since there is no substitute platform for Cima/President, Nissan Fuga became Nissan's mainstay. Beginning in 2012, the name Cima is revived as an extended Fuga, continuing the market segment previously held by the President, thus continuing to offer an alternative to Toyota Premium Premium Toyota Majestous limousine made in Japan.
Since its debut in 1965, 56,000 units of Nissan President have been sold, 63 units sold in fiscal year 2009.
