The Renault ScÃÆ'à © nic is a compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) manufactured by the Renault car manufacturer, the first to be labeled like that in Europe. It is based on the family car chassis of a small family of MÃÆ'à ©. It became the 1997 European Car of the Year at its launch in November 1996. The second and third generation have a model called Grand ScÃÆ'à © nic , which has seven seats instead of five.

Sc̮' ̩ nic I (1996-2003 )
The MÃÆ'à © gane ScÃÆ' à © nic can be traced back to a concept car designed under the supervision of Anne Asensio, then designer at Renault. The ScÃÆ'à © nic is mechanically identical to the MÃÆ'à © gane hatchback (itself based on the older R19). The 1.4Ã,Ã,Ã, L, 1.6Ã,à "L" Energy ", 1.8Ã, L" F-type "petrol and 1.9 liter diesel engines have been distributed with a hatchback range.
The ScÃÆ'à © nic is marketed as a multi-purpose vehicle, in a smaller size lower price than vehicles like the Renault Espace itself. It was launched in November 1996.
Renault underestimated the market demand that ScÃÆ'à © nic will - predict that it will be a niche model with only 450 days yield. Production at the company's Douai plant will eventually peak at nearly 2,500 cars a day.
Facelift
Along with MÃÆ'à © gane hatchback, ScÃÆ' à © nic underwent a small frontal restyle in September 1999, and a newer 16 valve engine was introduced. The front end is slightly different from its counterpart, and there is also a redesigned rear light.
From the moment of this restyle, it is officially known as Renault ScÃÆ' à © nic , although a small badge "MÃÆ' à © gane" still appears at the back door indicating the origin of the car. This model was built in Brazil with a flexible fuel engine. Production ended in June 2003.
Phase 2 allows ScÃÆ'à © nic to separate from MÃÆ'à © gane and its predecessors by introducing improvements, such as storage compartments on the dashboard, and separate rear opening windows on the tailgate. Another small improvement with ScÃÆ'à © nic is the back head restraints, which are fixed behind the seat rather than upright. It improves rear visibility.
ScÃÆ' à © nic RX4
Renault developed a four-wheel drive derivative of ScÃÆ'à © nic, the ScÃÆ' à © nic RX4 , launched in 2000 in LHD and RHD format. Featuring a differential center, viscous disc center designed by Austrian specialist Steyr Daimler Puch, it offers part-time 4WD. Rear suspension reengineered and suspension strengthened. It also uses five wheel beans compared to four on ScÃÆ'ènic standards.
The new rear suspension now occupies part of the space used for the spare wheel well and causes the spare tire to be placed behind the hatch. RX4 climbs higher with increased travel suspension and larger wheels.
While these changes provide better ground clearance, the RX4 is offered with 2.0 liters of gasoline and 1.9 dci diesel engines, both of which are well known from MÃÆ'à © gane. Production of the RX4 ceased in 2003, without a direct successor, until the arrival of ScÃÆ' à © nic Conquest in 2007.

ScÃÆ' à © nic in the United Kingdom
The sale of Great Britain from ScÃÆ'à © nic began in May 1997, and during the first two years, ScÃÆ'à © nic is the only compact MPV sold by major manufacturers in the UK, but Vauxhall Zafira, CitroÃÆ'án Xsara Picasso, Fiat Multipla and Nissan Almera Tino launched in less than five years. Call back
Electronic defect has caused Renault to issue two withdrawals. The first, in October 2009, was because the dashboard could stop functioning, leaving the driver without the ability to measure their speed, fuel tank, direction indicators or anything because all instruments are completely electronic.
Initially drivers had to replace this part at their own expense, but finally, due to media pressure, Renault England and Ireland said they would replace customers to the specified limits. No replacements are being made by Renault in Finland where several independent workshops launch affordable pricing from the vacant ScáÃz nic panel.
The cause of an unexpected instrument panel of blankening comes from some defective solder causing the power transistor to overheat and fail. Mistakes occurred on Scenic II cars made between 2003 and 2006. The second one, in August 2010, was because the electric hand brake could sometimes get involved on its own as the car was moving.
Alternate drivers
The Cleanova III, presented at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show, is based on the ScÃÆ'à © nic platform.
