It was produced by Vizard's production company, United Film Completion, and was broadcast on Seven Network, which was part of Christopher's Qintex Group Skage. Style
Fast Forward is famous for its fast satirical comedy, which especially peppered the media, especially movies and TV, with its precise parody of famous television shows (like Kung Fu , > Lost In Space The Munsters , A Current Affair ), personalities (such as Clive James, Jana Wendt, Derryn Hinch, Geoffrey Robertson) and advertisements (such as Amex, Nescafe).
His subjects were also Australian politics, who were attacked through various political imitations (including John Howard, Paul Keating), and also used the political doll, the Rubber Figure, previously seen in a small segment of ABC, based on the political cartoon Peter Nicholson.
Another major distinguishing feature is the use of simulated surf channels to switch from sketch to sketch, often in the middle of a sketch, sometimes after the punch. In particular, a sketch will suddenly switch to a temporary static segment, followed by another sketch, simulating the viewer effect of repeatedly switching channels. The channel surfing device is the hallmark of events that help move quickly from sketch to sketch.
The television and multimedia subject of the sketch, speed, style and device are the real points of difference from the sketch show of his predecessor at that time, especially the previous shows such as The Mavis Bramston Show, Naked Vicar Show >, Australia You Standing In It , The D-Generation , The Comedy Company Ã,: Fast Forward more focusing on the media and focusing on parodies; the real difference, and the binding force for the entire event, is the now famous channel change device. The white and static noise on the screen representing channel changes becomes a modern television equivalent to the curtains drawn on the ancient vaudeville show.
Fast Forward is also famous for its incredible musical parody, particularly the current music video clip, many of which feature Gina Riley. Some of the better known music parodies include ABBA, Cher and Dannii Minogue.
Sketches and content
Each episode of Fast Forward features regular characters, news-based segments, large parodies of famous television or movie shows, television advertising cartoons, political satire, especially in segments that use the political puppet character.
Some of the most memorable regular characters include
o Marg Downey; Presenter SBS
o Magda Szubanski; Pixie Anne Wheatley; Chenille the Beautician (with Marg Downey); Poor Couple (with Peter Moon)
o Steve Vizard and Peter Moon; Advertising executives, Brent Smythe and Barry; Indian Rugari Rug Dealer;
o Michael Veitch (with Steve Vizard); gay hostess; Kelvin Cunnington
o Gerry Connolly; Ratu; Joh Bjelke-Petersen
o Jane Turner (with Peter Moon); Russian news presenter;
o Steve Vizard; Darren Hunch
o Ernie Dingo; Robert Gottliebsen
o Steve Blackburn dan Geoff Brookes; the Dodgy Brothers
Some of the most impressive sketches include Dumb Street, a parody of Home and Away and Neighbors ; and lampoon from Skippy . In a memorable sketch that goes into the air, Moon and Vizard are both seen trying to hold their laughter through a series of contempt in one of their parodies of Kung Fu.
The political puppet of Rubber Characters was made more "commercial" than in ABC by putting them into a popular situation outside Canberra's political environment. This causes a parody of Star Trek where Paul Keating is Mr. Spock and Bob Hawke is Captain Kirk. Rubber Character is a big hit and an important element in the early success of Fast Forward.
In 1991, there were five Thomas the Tank Engine & amp; Skits friends featuring Ertl Thomas models. These segments involve people complaining about Sodor who does not have a women's steam engine, the Fat Controller polluting the countryside by pouring the purple mucus from tankers, drunken bat, striking machines, and replaced machines. In this drama, Thomas will do some human things, like breakfast, writing, and going for the weekend. Percy is referred to as Bertie twice in the first sketch, Gordon is at the end of the fourth, and Henry is once in fifth place. The sketch has five original engine characters, Crazy Bartholomew Loco Locomotive, which is a model of Thomas painted yellow, Alfred, which is a Percy model painted in red (he even referred to as Percy at the beginning of the fifth sketch), Damian Diesel, not seen directly, Edgar, which is the character of the machine mentioned, and one of the female machines, which is a Percy model painted orange with extra detail. Toby was also mentioned once at the end of the first sketch, and so did Clarabel in the fourth sketch.
A TV parody or full-length movie "stripped" through each one hour episode is:
