A year after the release of their second studio album Rotator from 1996, Dizzzy Mizz Lizzy broke up. They reunited in 2009-2010 where they toured extensively and released remaster and live albums. On October 20, 2014, Tim Christensen wrote the acronym "DML2015" on his Facebook wall, showing a second reunion. Two days later, they revealed that they had written a new song, although at the time said it was not yet known whether the band would release LP, EP, or just one or two singles, as that would depend on how the atmosphere and creativity were. However, they later revealed that they have been working on the album for several years in secret.

Themes

Singer and songwriter Tim Christensen explains that when the band's early material was more inspired by grunge, for new material he was more inspired by louder music like Slayer and Megadeth. Thematically, the songs are also more angry and revolve around Christensen's critique of our contemporary time. Songs among others relate to how the internet is a gift and a curse, increasingly attacking our private realms and Facebook ingesting us, and what the future looks like for the next generation.

Record and song

The album was recorded, mixed, and controlled by Jacob Hansen at his studio in Ribe, Denmark during the span of time from December 2014 to January 2016. Additional footage was made at SortHus and Medley Studios in Copenhagen.

"I Would If I Could but I Can not," was the first single Dizzy Mizz Lizzy released in 19 years, which aired on Danish radio station DR P3 on January 5, 2015. The second single, "Made to Believe", was released on 10 April 2015 to honor the start of their tour. In anticipation of the album, "Brainless" was released as the third single on April 1, 2016.

The album has three instrumental tracks: "Phlying Pharaoh", "Frey", and "Mindgasm". "Frey" is named after the niece of Christensen's girlfriend, a 3-year-old boy who is often treated by Tim.

Art cover

The cover art contains anaglyph 3D rendering of the band mascot, a photo from around 1920 from Vera, the older brother of Tim Christensen's vocalist on the side of his mother who died around the age of 12-14 from tuberculosis. The album cover represents a mascot with a black background while singles describe parts of the mascot (like a mouth or an eye) against a white background.
