Interesting trucks and tractors , also known as fascinating power , are motorsport competitions, popular in the United States, Canada, Europe (mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Germany), Australia and Brazil and New Zealand that require a modified tractor to pull a 35-foot wide, 330 foot long track, with the winner being a tractor pulling the farthest sled. This sport is known as the most powerful motorsport in the world, because tractor tractors are modified twin-engine.

All the tractors in each class drew a set of weight on the sled. When a tractor gets to the end of a 100-meter track, it's known as "full drag". When more than one tractor completes the training, more weight is added to the sled, and competitors moving past 300 feet will compete in the pull-offs; the winner is the one who can pull the furthest sled.

This sled is known as a heavy transfer sleeve . This means that when pulled down the track, the weight is transferred (connected to the gears to the sled wheels) from the top of the rear axle and toward the front of the sled. In front of the rear wheels, there is a "pan". It's basically a metal plate and because the weight moves above this build resistance. The further the tractor pulls the sled, the harder it is.

The most powerful tractors, such as those in the modification class 4.5 in Europe, can produce more than 10,000 horsepower.

History in US

Prior to the invention of tractors, when farming equipment was pulled by horses, the farmers would boast the strength of their team and try to compare and compete in teams with each other to see who possessed the most powerful animals. In some cases, they compare horse teams that pull large loads from a distance, such as a straw wagon or a loaded cart. In other situations, a flatboard or skid will have a horse or horse team then pat him; weight will be added, usually in stone form, and the driver will ask the horses to pull the load, with more weight and competitor added removed; animals that attract the heaviest or for the greatest distance are rated the strongest. These events became a formalized horse sport, which is still being done today with specially designed horses that have been raised to have high strength to attract heavy loads. Today, the fixed weights on the sleds are dragged for a certain distance and additional weights are added in successive rounds. While it is said that the term horsepower comes from this event, the concept was developed earlier, in experiments and measurements by James Watt and Mason Worrell.

It was not until 1929 that motor vehicles were used in the first event in Vaughansville, Missouri, and Bowling Green, Ohio,. Although the sport was acknowledged, it did not really become popular until the 50s and 60s. Also realized, at that time, there was no uniform set of rules. The rules vary from state to state, other states, and competitors never know what standards to follow. This makes sports difficult for newcomers.

In 1969, representatives from eight countries came together to create a uniform rule book to provide much-needed sport structures, and created the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA). The early years of the NTPA were events that used standard agricultural vehicles, with the motto "Pull on Sunday, plow on Monday". Interesting basically remains the same through the 70s, with only modified stock and tractors. The backup tractor is a commercial tractor manufactured by the manufacturer, and the modified tractor is a basic tractor chassis with another non-tractor engine mounted on it.

Tractors remained single engines until two Ohio brothers, Carl and Paul Bosse, introduced a cross box that could allow multiple engines to be attached to a single driveshaft. Other innovators during this period included Bruce Hutcherson, with his three-wheeled "Makin Bacon Special" Rodeck engine, Dave and Ralph Banter and their Chevrolet powered tractor, and Mission Impossible tractor from Tim Engler, which at one point had up to seven machines alcohol blown on the board.

Furthermore, a modified tractor with four engines is common, while the stock tractor tries to catch up by adding some large turbochargers, along with the intercooler, but both retain the look of the tractor. Soon the tractor becomes a disposable machine that is not used on the farm, making "Pull on Sunday, plow on Monday" obsolete motto.

Throughout the '70s and' 80s the modified division continued to thrill the crowd by adding more machines, and soon the tractors lost the appearance of their tractors and turned into high 'spec' dragsters. The limit was reached in 1988 when a tractor with seven engines was built. Like piston engines, turbine engines (often mistakenly called "jet engines") appeared in 1974, with the "General" Tractor Gardner Stone four-turboshaft unit hitting the hook in 1989.

The increasing popularity of the sport led to the formation of a new four wheel drive division in 1976, capturing a huge fan base. The size of the engine in this vehicle continues to increase, from 450 cubic inches/7.3 liters to 700/11.5 and probably will continue, but NTPA limits it to 650/10.6 naturally aspirated and no blown engine in 1989. Today 4- wheel drive division is one of the most popular with truck successes such as "4-Play" Chevy and Bob Boden "Studley Studebaker" Holman Brothers.

Two-wheel-drive truck class (2WD)

The two wheel drive division (2WD) was introduced in 1983.

This division imposes a weight limit of £ 6,200 on each competing truck, a maximum width of eight feet, and a maximum distance of 15 feet from the centerline of the rear axle to the front of the vehicle (including heavy racks and hooks). (Long restrictions allow up to ten inches of cosmetic fiberglass, however.)

Alcohol methane engines with up to eight cylinders are allowed, but no diesel engines. Each wheel axle is allowed.

The National Tractor Pullers Association limits the engine to 575 in 3 and two valves per cylinder. They allow a tubular steel frame. The maximum tire size for the 2WD class is 18.4 x 16.1, with a maximum circumference of 143 inches when mounted on an 18-inch wide rim and increased to 28 psi. Patch fill does not exceed 19 inches on the original footprint.

Super-stock, pro-stock

The Super Open Open class uses mainly methanol fuel (some are diesel versions). The Super Stock Open machine can produce over 6,000 horsepower and 4000 ftlbs tourqe, with billet or re-cast engine blocks. Super Stock Open and Super Stock Diesel tractors can use up to four turbochargers in three stages. Diesel super stock tractors generate nearly 5000hp and 6000 feet turqe allowed to compete in the Open class, which is very rare again. However, the actual Open Tractor (methanol fuel) is not allowed to compete in the Diesel class.

Diesel Pro Stock Tractors are limited to one turbocharger and diesel is the only permitted power source, in accordance with the 'spirit' of the original tractor. The maximum engine displacement is 680 cubic centimeters. This machine can reach 3700 or more horsepower and 5500 ftlbs turqe In recent years, a new class has been created to attract different towing groups. There is now a class called Limited Pro Stock that is limited to 640 Cubic inch engines and 4.1 "turbochargers.This class usually draws on 9300 - 9500lbs and is a bit limited, compared to the Pro Stock class, which can run up to 680 cubic inch and turbocharger unlimited, along with the intercooler.

The latest addition to Pro Stocks is the Light Pro Stock Class which typically attracts 8300 -8600 lbs depending on the location. The tractor is limited to 540 Cubic Inch engines but can run different sizes of turbo. They are not allowed to run intercoolers, but these tractors make an average of 2,500-2,800 horsepower. The overall weight of the light makes this driver class as a significant skill needed to keep the tractor on the track.

The mini-modified class is a very specialized and specially constructed tractor to be equipped with natural, minimal aspirated engines. The Minis NTPA is limited to 575 cubic inches (always an aftermarket V-8 block) and uses up to 14-71 supercharger supercharger. With drivers, they weigh only 2050 kilograms. The engine is currently capable of at least 2,500 horsepower on methanol or ethanol. Their reputation is known as the wildest journey in exciting, because naturally it is a very high horsepower ratio. Meanwhile, their larger colleagues, Modified, will weigh 6000, 7500 and 8000 pounds, using the same engine as the Mini, but with some power plants per specially made tractor chassis. Typically, a maximum of five engines is all that will create a weight limit of 8,000 pounds. Nitromethane and oxidation were banned in 1976.

History in Australia

The first Australian Drag Tractor was held at Elmore Field Days (Victoria) in 1976. The following year saw Tractor Pulling begin in the rural town of Qulukanook, Victoria. It has grown over the years into a highly competitive and technical sport, where the distinction between first and last place may be as small as one or two meters. Often the top tractor is separated only by centimeters.

Australian Tractor Pullers Association (ATPA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates Tractor Pulling in Australia. Our event (Tractor Pulls) was held in conjunction with the promoter. These are often school clubs, sports, services or local communities (eg Apex, Rotary, Lions, Netball, Cricket, Football) who use the event as a fundraiser. Tractor Pulls are held in locations across Australia, especially in Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales. In the west, the Australian Tractor Pullers Association (WATPA) hosts events and is affiliated with ATPA.

ATPA focuses on actively promoting this spectacular sport and working with the community to not only create a unique annual event, but more importantly to help the financial community through the entry of spectators, sponsors and promotions.

Tractors are divided into several classes and obey the "Limited" or "Open" rules. Classes Open Modified, Modified Super, Limited Modified, Open Mini Modified, Mini Modified, Pro Stock (diesel) and Two Wheel Drive Trucks. The difference between classes is determined by the overall maximum weight, engine modification, fuel and physical size.

Competition is open to women and men, the only limitation is that competitors must at least hold the Student Licenses currently underway. Sometimes it comes to the same family members competing for trophies.

The Junior Modified Pulling Association holds an "introductory" class for children ages 8 to 16 to develop driving, mechanical and competitive skills. The modified Cut Machine attracts smaller versions of their big sled.

Sled interesting

In the early days, two main techniques were used. Either the dead weight of the mass remains dragged, or the step-on method is used, where people stand in a fixed position and step on board when the sled passes. Another rule that has now been dropped is that speed limits should be observed because of injuries resulting from an increase in the speed at which they rise. The current tractor can reach a theoretical speed of more than 125 mph/200 km/h.

Today's trains use complex gear systems to move weights up to 65,000 pounds/29,000 pounds. After getting started, all weights are on the back of the sleigh sled, to give the weight weight of the sleigh plus zero. When the tractor runs in the lane, the weight is driven forward from the sled axle, pushing the front of the sled to the ground, synthetically creating a weight gain until the tractor is no longer capable of overcoming frictional forces. Most sledges have a grouser stick that acts like a tooth and digs the ground to stop the sled.

Interesting radio control (RC)

Radio control trucks and interesting tractors have been around since the late 1980s. It was started by a group of people interested in interesting R/C, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The main R/C withdrawal group is NR/CTPA. NR/CTPA also has many smaller, affiliated clubs, such as County Line R/C Puller's Club, the number one club in NR/CTPA.

Machine

Regardless of the modification of standard diesel tractors, a variety of high-powered engines were used to pull the tractor, which began in the late 1970s. In the early years, mainly large single, double or multiple made-up dragster machines were US used, but today, many parts of the dumped military engines are in use, such as Klimov TV3-117 (Isotov) turboshafts from Russian helicopters, Soviet Machines a Zvezda M503 torpedo, a AV1790 Continental tank engine, or a World War 2-era piston engine in the form of a V12 (eg Rolls-Royce Griffon) or as a radial engine (eg Curtiss-Wright R-3350). Due to the limited number of remaining vintage warbird machines, some organizations that own them, such as the Fantasy of Flight museum in Florida, refuse to sell machines from their collection to customers who want to use them to pull a tractor. In recent years a number of agricultural machines have been converted to run on methanol with multi-stage turbocharging.
